The DREAM CATCHER comes from a legend handed down many, many generations ago. An old Grandfather feared for his family. It was a time of great turmoil in his land, so grandfather to his sacred place to pray and ask for guidance from the Great Spirit. While he prayed, a deep sleep came over him. "Grandfather, the Spirit said, the medicine wheel protects those you love in the light of the day; only in sleep are they vulnerable. So Grandfather, fashiaon a circle representing our world. Inside the circle form a spiders web. The web is fragile, yet strong enough to catch and hold prey many times stronger. The web will hold back all evil; the bad night seekers cannot get through. Leave a small hole in the center; only the good spirits know to pass through the hole, and won't be entangled. Use the feathers or our winged brothers beneath the web so the "good dreams" know to travel down them to the sleeper below. Hang a DREAM CARCHER above each of your sleeping family members to assure their sleep is peaceful. All of the "bad dreams" caught in the web will be destroyed by the mornings light.
